National Board Protection

The published NB grading for the town in which a risk is located will generally be appropriate. Very often, however, buildings in isolated parts of the town or newer sections will not be as well protected, as the town grading would indicate. When in doubt, assume less in the way of protection and use the next highest range of NB grading. In absence of confirmed information to the contrary, always assume that rural risks or risks in unrated towns fall in NB 9 or NB 10.
